SweepsGuard Grade: B.

Is Modo legit?

SweepsGuard grades Modo a B based on its complaint and payout history — just below our top tier, and also a solid, reliable option with a good payout record and only minor issues on file. Always read its official sweepstakes rules and play responsibly.

Overview Modo has been running since 2023. The sweepstakes are sponsored by ARB Gaming LLC, doing business as Modo.us, with a mailing address in Scottsdale, Arizona. Its parent, ARB Interactive, bought the Publishers Clearing House brand out of bankruptcy in 2025. You must be 21, and its rules close the site to players in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, Washington and West Virginia. Its help center lists Pennsylvania as open for Sweeps Coins, but sign-ups from Pennsylvania were blocked when we tested in September 2026, so we list it as restricted. Rhode Island is Gold Coins only. The library covers slots, table and live dealer games, and instant games. Gift cards start at 20 SC and cash at 50 SC, with one redemption request a day. Sweeps Coins need one playthrough by default. The mail-in pays 3 SC per request. Redemptions over $600 in total require your Social Security number. Player Reception Modo has an excellent Trustpilot rating on a very large review base, and most players describe it as their go-to site. Most one-star reviews are about losing. A run of them in September 2026 is about something else: at least six players say their accounts were blocked or closed with no explanation, and longtime VIPs say free play and daily rewards were cut. Modo now replies to nearly every negative review, usually to say it has emailed the player about the account. Strengths Gift card redemptions start at just 20 SC. Sweeps Coins only need one playthrough by default. The mail-in pays 3 SC per request. A large library that includes live dealer games. US ownership, with a parent company that is publicly known. Modo replies to almost every negative Trustpilot review. Minor Issues In Case #125 a Missouri player reported about $1,020 in mail-in credits unpaid since December 2025, and Modo replied only with general mail-in rules. The case closed unresolved. In Case #431, from September 2026, Modo closed an Oregon player's account after a $19.99 purchase, saying his card was on another account, then told us it would not discuss the account and told him the decision was final. That case closed as refused. The Better Business Bureau lists 97 complaints against Modo.US and says 40 got no response. Several players in September 2026 report accounts blocked or closed without a reason. Support is tiered. VIP players describe personal hosts, while standard players describe slow replies. Track Record Modo has been operating since 2023 and has paid a lot of players. Its owners are public, and the company had enough money to buy Publishers Clearing House in 2025. Our own record is thinner. No case we have handled with Modo has ended with the player paid, and in Case #125 and Case #431 Modo declined to deal with the specifics. The BBB file also shows many complaints left unanswered. SweepsGuard Status We moved Modo down a step. It is still a well-run site that pays most players, but unpaid mail-in credits, a pile of unanswered BBB complaints and September's account closures are more than we can call trivial. Case #431 fits that last pattern: an account closed over a card match, with no explanation offered to us or the player. Verify your account early, use a card only you have ever used, and keep records of mail-in requests. We will look again if Modo settles Case #125 or Case #431, or if the account closure reports keep coming.
